A Blessed hodgepodge is how I would describe my entire faith life. I have been blessed with so many people that have poured the gospel of Jesus Christ in me since I was born. To this day the Godliest people I have ever known were my devout grandparents. My grandfather was the Elder/Pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church in which I was raised. I also attended a Methodist church on occasion with my mom and Stepdad. During my high school years, I was part of an amazing youth group at a Moravian church. I was extremely blessed to meet the love of my life Renee, and she was a Catholic (you can’t make this up) and keeping in the tradition as she was raised, we started our family with the Catholic church. But God had other plans for our life.
Renee and I have been married for over 30 years and have 3 grown children. I believe Renee and I had three distinct calls on our young lives. She became a Registered Nurse, and I became a firefighter, and we would serve God in whatever capacity He put in front of us. We raised our kids in a newly planted non-denominational church and were what I call super volunteers. If the doors were open, we wanted to be there. We served in leading kids’ ministries and hosted a small group in our home for nearly 10 years. As our kids got older, we were led to a different church because our kids loved the smaller youth group atmosphere, and this is where everything changed.
After being a firefighter my entire adult life, in 2019, I answered the call to pastoral ministry. In July of 2019 I began pastoring 2 churches in the Mount Airy area before answering the call to pastor Greenwood Hills in July of 2022. Our vision is to create a welcoming atmosphere that pours into people the life saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together we will serve this wonderful High Point community through the Love of Jesus.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Ethics from John Wesley College and a Master of Public Administration from Jacksonville State University. I completed my ordination studies at Oklahoma Wesleyan and Southern Wesleyan University respectively in 2023.

Tonya, a lifelong Wesleyan, grew up at Mt. Zion Wesleyan in Thomasville, NC, and moved to Greenwood Hills in 2002 after she married her husband, Scott. While at Greenwood Hills, she has served in multiple volunteer capacities, finding her heart and passion in the younger generation. Tonya and Scott have two children together: Rachel, a college student, and Gabe, a student at East Davidson High School.
Tonya was called into ministry in 2015, after stepping into the role of Children’s Director as a volunteer at Greenwood Hills. While stepping into that role, she left her career in the medical field to enter full-time ministry in November 2020. Children’s ministry is our youngest generation’s first glimpse of Jesus. God can and does do mighty things through our children.
She loves to see children meet Jesus on their level and begin to build a solid relationship with him. Our children face an ever-changing world, but are never alone, for Jesus walks with them. Nothing is better than to watch a child meet Jesus for the first time or see the world through the lens of what God has created!
Tonya holds a Bachelor of Science in Ministry and Leadership from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and a Master of Divinity from Wesley Seminary.

Bradley Hill serves as an Assistant Pastor at Greenwood Hills church, where he leads efforts to connect the church with the community through outreach and evangelism. He has a strong passion for helping people experience the love of Christ in practical and meaningful ways. With years of experience in both ministry leadership and public service, Bradley brings a unique perspective on what it means to serve others. His heart is to see the church live out the Gospel beyond the walls of the building—meeting needs, building relationships, and pointing people to Jesus. He also Leads an organization called Rise Up Network. In addition to his ministry work, Bradley is actively involved in the fire service, where he continues to live out his calling to serve others.

David Paul “DP” Grigg felt a call to youth ministry in the summer of 2001 at Victory Mountain Youth Camp in Sophia, which is the same camp that Greenwood Hills now attends. After graduating from Asbury College (now University) in 2005 with a BA in Christian Ministries, he and his wife, Ashley, moved to Springville, AL, where he was the Director of Christian Education at Springville FUMC until 2013. While in Alabama, DP and Ashley had two children, Morgan and Grayson, who now attend Ledford.
In 2013 the Grigg family moved back to High Point where DP was the Director of Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church until 2023.
After a year of sabbatical, God pulled DP back into ministry as the Youth Pastor here at Greenwood Hills in January of 2025.
DP says, “While I still don’t love lock-ins (but will do one once a year!), I love ministry, and I love ministry at Greenwood Hills. I very much look forward to seeing how God can use Greenwood Hills to further His Kingdom!”

Pastor vernon grew up in church and says he “played the church role” very well; he was a part of everything that church offered. be it a committee, service, going to worship, whatever it was at church, he was there.
But something was still missing. there was no joy in serving the church, no spiritual fulfillment. he says, “i still lived in my sin and there was no change in my life”. he felt like many people who were raised in the church do: church life is boring.
Vernon found the missing part (or it found him) when he took part in the disciple bible study at springhill united methodist church in high point. and it was there that he found his passion: discipleship. vernon feels that god has given us this life to be enjoyed, and the best way to enjoy it is through him. it is in jesus that we can be fulfilled, and vernon wants to spread that fulfillment by teaching god’s word.
Vernon holds an associate’s degree in biblical studies and a bachelor’s degree in theology, both from vintage bible college in winston-salem.
In addition to loving jesus and his word, vernon loves his wife rhonda of 31 years (and friday date nights) and is fond of all things engine, be it drag cars or tractors. the smiths began in ministry at greenwood hills in 2005 (they began attending in 1999), and also served in reidsville from 2007-2012, lexington from 2012-2022, and returned back to greenwood hills where it all started in 2023.

While Bobby Singleton has been leading worship in local churches since 2006 - from Greensboro, to Kernersville and now High Point - his love for music began long before then. The son of a Methodist minister, Bobby grew up surrounded by church life and found his place behind a guitar, bass, drum kit—or pretty much any instrument that needed playing. He studied percussion at UNCG’s School of Music and brings both skill and heart to every worship set.
Beyond his talents as a musician and sound-tech wizard, Bobby’s real passion is people. He loves how the words and melodies of worship songs, both traditional and contemporary, can guide people to God, and he carries that same heart for service into the community, where he leads a local ministry that walks alongside people in need.

Holli Singleton shares the joy of leading worship at Greenwood Hills with her husband, Bobby. Growing up in Liberty, NC, Holli has been involved in church life—and especially church music—for as long as she can remember. She plays piano and keyboard, loves to sing, and has a heart for every style of worship, from traditional hymns to contemporary praise.
For Holli, music is more than just notes and melodies—it’s a powerful tool God uses to set the tone for worship: sparking joy, bringing comfort, offering praise, and uniting the church family. Her favorite moment every week? Hearing the Greenwood Hills Church family sing with full hearts and loud voices!
